 Hilly. She is a childhood friend of Skeeter's. She is rich. She is racist. She wrote an initiative for black people to have a separate toilet outside the houses of white people. She is a bad person. She is selfish. She is stingy.

 Raleigh. She is another friend of Skeeter's. Aibileen works in her house. She is a mother and she is expecting another baby. She does not take care of her daughter.

 Aibileen. She is the narrator of the story. She is the first one who decides to help Skeeter.

 Minny. She has children. She used to work for Hilly. Hilly fired her because she used her toilet. She works for Celia now. She is a great cook. She has a violent husband.
